Waking Up To ASH, SMOKE, & BAD AIR!!!!
Dear Friends,
Today I awoke at 11am and noticed something. My room normally lit up by that time with sun or at least cloudy skies was unusually colored and not super light. The side that faced me on the front from my bed (and left of the house) had the sun but it looked funny colored. The front part of my room which is the front of the house had NO sun at all. I then looked outside my window to see the dirty ground outside the whole neighborhood covered in ASH. The sky dark with the smoke of the fires. And when walking outside when I went downstairs I smelled the thick smoke. Its HORRIBLE.
Ash rained down all day today, just stepping outside you can see it come down in pieces and on the cars it seemed to cover the whole ground.
We visited the Carlsbad Mall tonight to pick up applications, only to find out that most of the mall closed because of the fires. People who couldnt get to work cause they were evacuated. Or the mall just not popular. The girl at the smoothie place which was open at 8 that time said that some shops closed early but a lot didnt open at all. We first noticed this trend at the bank located in the local Alberstons grocery store. The sign said cause of the fires had to close early, but one employee of the store said she didnt know if the bank opened at all today. Yeah....
So despite the fact that we arent leaving yet, its affecting us in many many ways.
FREAKY is this one. The fallbrook fire seemed to be coming OUR DIRECTION. It was crossing Camp Penlton and heading our way. Then it changed to going back east toward Fallbrook. Sad for them because they already got it. But I am personally glad. We werent in danger on the one side, but since it turned and was coming to Oceanside. THANK GOD it turned around!!
My heart and prayers go out to those who have lost or will loose houses and such in the fires all over our sad great state. President Bush is visiting on Thursday. Yeah.
PLEASE KEEP ALL INVOLVED IN PRAYER INCLUDING US!!!!
Dear God,
Please keep us safe. Please keep our homes, pets, and families safe. Please convince people that no house is worth their lives, and that they need to evacuate when asked. Please keep people off their cell phones so the firefighters can use the lines.
God, please let us all be okay.

In October 2007 over a dozen wildfires across Southern California, United States forced the evacuation of over 265,000 residents. This evacuation comes almost four years to the day after the Cedar Fire of 2003. At least one person has been reported dead. Fires burned in Malibu, Lake Arrowhead, Irvine, and San Diego. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles, Orange, Poway, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties as a result. At least 100,000 acres of land were burned near San Diego County.
Pass this on.
No, you wont die in 48 hours if you dont, but you need to inform people.
